| May 4, 2007 Healing Retreat -- Those who attended the Spiritual Healing Retreat in
Mantoloking NJ were blessed with wonderful weather (blossom time), a
lovely group of women, beautiful accommodations and a glorious long
beach with no one on it. The theme of the weekend was nephesh
meaning breath of life or
continuum of life.
After enjoying, morning prayer and evening vespers every day, learning
liturgical dance, having Reiki and massage, taking long walks on the
beach, relaxing in the loft, and walking the labyrinth on the beach, we
certainly came away with a new and refreshed continuum of life. One of our weekend projects was being teamed up to a
secret prayer partner. During the craft time we each made a personal
mandala or dreamcatcher for them which was later presented on the last
day revealing who the prayer-partner was. You can enjoy the retreat and see the mandalas that were
made in a brief 5 minute slideshow that was made for YouTube, just log

Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness ..." -- John 8:12 We arrived Friday and after unpacking and greeting friends, the Business meeting included installation of new CT members, and we had a PW Birthday Party! All former moderators were invited; the five in attendance spoke and those unable to attend sent letters that were read.Jyung In (Jenny) Lee was commissioned as Global Exchange partner and presented with gifts of scarves, knitted by women from around the Synod, to share with hosts in Eastern Europe. Saturday activities included plenary with keynote address by Lucy Janjigian, a Bible Study led by Jane MacDonald, workshops creating origami worry boxes, walking the labyrinth, or massage therapy. Our "Camp Fire" was a Mala Meal. Sunday morning worship and communion led by the Rev. Ann Shamy and the Rev. Betsy Jay included lovely liturgical dance by "Flowing Psalms," a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Jamaica, NY. Linda Springstead provided wonderful musical accompaniment to the weekend. |
